Cattle Dog Grill is a food truck concept inspired by the music and atmosphere of Gregory Alan Isakov, translating his grounded, reflective, and Americana-driven style into a visual identity system. The goal was to create a brand that felt local, honest, and unpretentious—rooted in place and story rather than trend.
I focused on developing a logo that could live in a real-world food truck environment. I spent significant time iterating on the illustration of the cattle dog, exploring how to balance character and warmth with a level of refinement that still felt appropriate for a restaurant brand. The challenge was finding a visual treatment that felt expressive and approachable without drifting into cartoonish territory or delving into dog park aesthetic.
 I leaned into textures and tonal simplicity to reflect the rustic, outdoor feeling embedded in Isakov’s music, while ensuring the system still functioned clearly across menus, truck signage, and marketing applications.
